Mazda Pool, more economical for your pool

How to optimize the performance of a pool system?

Given the current economic situation, this is a legitimate question to ask. In this article, Mazda Pool, the energy specialist since 1909, will provide you with 6 tips on how to save money by optimizing the performance of your pool system, whether you're about to build a pool, or already own one.

  1. Pipe insulation
Pipe lagging is a method of insulating hot water pipes. This step is essential if the pipes run through cold areas. The pipes will be protected from the ambient temperature, and your water will not lose temperature on contact with the cooled metal. With energy wastage stopped, you'll make real savings of up to 10% on your heating bills.

  2. Limiting elbows in the hydraulic circuit
The right sizing of hydraulic network pipes helps avoid pressure loss, and therefore over-consumption of electricity. By avoiding elbows in your hydraulic circuits, you can ensure better water circulation, and therefore savings!

  3. Limiting the distance between the equipment and the equipment room, as well as between the room and the pool
In addition to the convenience of installing your equipment room close to the pool, the location of the equipment room needs to be carefully considered, to avoid having to buy a pump that's too powerful or install too much piping. In general, pipes and connections should be no more than 10 meters long.

  4. Covering the pool
Evaporation is by far the biggest source of energy loss in a swimming pool, but it doesn't have to be that way! By covering your pool, you can conserve ambient heat and regulate the water temperature. For instance, you'll avoid a significant drop in temperature at night. A pool cover will also keep your pool cleaner.

  5. Install an automatic management system to monitor levels
This is not something you think about very often, but installing an automatic level management system will give you better control over your pool equipment, and prevent premature wear and tear. Intelligent systems such as those from EZ Pool will automate tasks to make your life easier.

  6. Proper ventilation of the mechanical room
This aspect of optimizing a performance system is often overlooked, but it's crucial! The heat in the room, coupled with evaporation from the chemicals stored there, will lead to premature corrosion of the equipment. By ventilating your mechanical room correctly, you can evacuate the chemical evaporation present in your room, and preserve the longevity of your pool equipment.

All these tips will help you optimize the performance of your pool system, and save energy for your pool.
